Stick Injuries

1 Aug 2017

Stick injuries are a common cause of injury in our dogs.  It can vary in the outcome; getting stuck in the teeth to the full penetration of a stick into any part of the dog’s body, mouth or face.  Injuries to the chest, mouth and eyes have been seen and there is a risk of infection as well as the obvious pain and discomfort this can cause.  If your dog is a keen stick chaser, please do consider a safer alternative such as  Kong Safestix.  This is a safe toy  replacement which can be thrown by an owner in the same way as a stick and it is a much cheaper option to the potential cost of a stick injury.  They are also really tough so even the most fervent of chewers would struggle to destroy it!
