Operating theatres & post-op care
At Rowan Vets, we have invested in excellent surgical facilities to provide the very best care to your pet, here at our two practices. Our fully equipped operating theatres have state-of-the-art anaesthetic monitoring machines, and our highly skilled anaesthetists use the safest anaesthetic protocols designed specifically for each species.
Your pet will be monitored closely by our fully qualified Nurses throughout their procedure to ensure they are as comfortable as they can be whilst in surgery. We also have an extensive range of medication on-site should any be needed.

Post-op care
Following your pet’s procedure, our team will continue to closely monitor them during their recovery. Once they are awake, your pet will be moved to one of our comfortable recovery rooms to rest. Food and drink will be offered, and dogs will be taken outdoors to stretch their legs and go to the toilet when they’re ready.
We will contact you to let you know how the procedure went and arrange a time for you to collect your pet. During your pet’s discharge appointment, our team will inform you of any post-op care and instructions you will need to follow at home. You may also be given a follow-up appointment with a Vet or a Nurse.
If your pet needs overnight monitoring following a procedure, our team will discuss this with you.
Is your pet insured?
Surgery could be a lifesaver for your pet, which is why we strongly recommend taking out pet insurance. If the unimaginable happens, pet insurance can help you get your pet the treatment they need, rather than what is affordable at the time. Learn more about pet insurance.
