Telephone calls to the practice have increased year on year. The COVID 19 pandemic has contributed even more so to call levels. Even during the full lockdown of 2020, we had a duty of care to provide emergency treatment and treatment of sick animals. There were also many instances where pet owners just needed to talk to a member of the clinical team. This could be to discuss health concerns, symptoms their pet might be experiencing or to order repeat medication for current medical conditions. They weren’t able to do this in person because so the only way at that time was by telephone.
To help us manage our call load we have invested heavily in a more up-to-date telephone system. This new system allows us to handle and manage both incoming and outgoing calls more effectively. This upgrade is at both the Blackpool and Hillock Lane sites. The new system will allow us to adapt to the needs of the practice and our client’s needs in future.
We’re always open to feedback and ideas. There is still more exciting news of another new development on the horizon here at Rowan. It’s something we get asked about regularly by clients, so stay tuned for more information later in the month.
